Pupillage

All pupils at JTJB will be exposed to various areas of law, with a specialization in Shipping & Admiralty work. Our pupillage programme is not based on theory of the law, but the practical application of the law. Our pupils will get hands-on experiences in wet and dry shipping matters.

JTJB believes in training our lawyers from scratch, ensuring that the potential shipping lawyer at JTJB gets a feel of the daily life of a shipping lawyer. This would mean getting your hands “dirty” where necessary.

All pupils at JTJB will be assigned to a Senior Partner of the firm, who would act as their Pupil Master. You will also be rotated to various practice areas to get the complete JTJB experience.

Pupillage Package

Our attractive pupillage package comprises of the following:

• Competitive remuneration and allowance during Pupillage and PLC respectively

• Full subsidy of PLC, compulsory filing fees and stamp fees for Call documents when admitted to the Singapore Bar (provided that pupilage is completed with us and upon retention)

•  Opportunity to sit in our monthly In-House Seminars.

Please also enclose a recent photograph taken in the last three months. Please ensure that all requirements pursuant to the Legal Profession Act have been fulfilled.
