JTJB was founded in February 1988, when Joseph Tan and Jude Benny merged
their respective practices in partnership. Today, JTJB is a full-service
fully integrated and internationally recognised practice with a global
network of offices.
While the core expertise of the firm is built on the strength of shipping
litigation, civil litigation, and conveyancing, today, JTJB’s practice has
diversified into practices in family and matrimonial laws, corporate,
finance and banking, general litigation, and all aspects of contentious
shipping litigation (wet and dry) and non-contentious ship finance, ship
