M. PANIRSELVAM JOINS JTJB

Selvam joins JTJB in April 2007 as our Senior Legal Associate with 9 years of shipping and admiralty practice behind him.   Having had vast experience in the shipping and admiralty arena, both on the contentious and non-contentious front, Selvam’s experience is invaluable to the JTJB Team.  We welcome Selvam onboard JTJB!

THAI LOGISTICS FAIR

JTJB International Lawyers participated in the Thai Logistics Fair from Thursday, 13 July to Saturday, 15 July 2006 The Fair was located at Queen Sirikit Convention Centre, attracting a large number of trade visitors from Thailand and neighbouring countries.

The JTJB team, led by Danny Chua from the Singapore office, together with John Sze, Ms Montira Kiatsunthorn and Mr Piyawat Suraticharoensuk, spent 3 days interacting with the Trade visitors and participants alike, discussing matters ranging from legal aspects of the logistics and transport business, to operational matters.  It was also an opportunity for us to catch up with our existing customers and friends, who visited us at our booth, and also to introduce ourselves to the Thai logistics market. 

Our successful participation at the Fair confirms our expansion plans in the Thai logistics market, and we shall continue to serve the Thai market with our accomplished expertise.


Maritime Law & Practice Conference 24-25 May 2006, organised by Lexis-Nexis, in association with JTJB

The Maritime Law & Practice seminar organized by Lexis-Nexis in association with JTJB was a resounding success.  Over 50 participants from the maritime industry participated in the 2-day seminar at the Holiday Inn, Parkview, Singapore, where papers on a wide range of discussions from ship finance to shipping claims were delivered by distinguished members of the maritime industry.  JTJB looks forward to organizing another seminar with Lexis-Nexis.

Captain Anurag joins JTJB

Captain Anurag Srivastava recently joined JTJB in April 2006 as our Marine Consultant with more than 15 years of sailing experience behind him.  Captain Anurag came on shore in 2002 and worked with a consultancy and ship management company before joining JTJB.
 
With considerable experience in ship management, ship surveying and superintendent work, as well as loss control and management, Captain Anurag brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience to our Team.  We welcome Captain Anurag onboard JTJB!

JTJB Welcomes our Japanese Interns

Following JTJB's Internship program agreement with Doshisha University in Kyoto Japan on 29 June 2006, JTJB welcomed 3 interns Mr Junji Hashimoto, Mr Hideki Maruo and Ms Naoko Hayakawa from the University for a 2 week internship between mid August to mid September 2006.

JTJB Network Partners Conferencfe 2006, Singapore

The JTJB Network had its first network partners' conference on 26 August 2006 in Singapore.  The conference, which lasted the whole day, was held at The Oriental Hotel and attended by partners from the JTJB Network offices in the region.
